On Thursday, December 29,2022 the world received the sad news of the death of one of the greatest football player of all time - Edson Arantes Du Nascimento , otherwise called Pele.  After being hospitalized for the terminal illness of cancer, he gave up the ghost yesterday between the hours of 3:27pm(18:27GMT) according to the hospital source at which he was receiving treatment, at the age of 82years.  A three-time world cup winner, professional footballer and recipient of many football accolades. Farewell great one!

The final game of the Qatar football tournament, called FIFA World Cup 2022,  was concluded on Sunday 18th Dec. 2022. The glamour of the game was not in any way dimmed going by the caliber of the contenders and the subsequent winners.  Kudos to all the nations that made the tournament  exciting and created Wow moments to behold, as new kings and conquerors of the game are being crowned. The world will not forget in a hurry the shock administered to Argentina, the final winner by the football nation of Saudi Arabia  in the group stage. Portugal was oustered by the footballing nation of Morocco in the quarter final, and that singular feat improved Morocco 's  FIFA football ratings, especially of African teams. A s they play the 3rd place match final with Croatia , that eventually won.  The final show-down seemed quite expected as a two-time winner went head-to-head with the defending champion; and as the world saw it, it was a spectacle to behold. Forming a political party is as establishing a cause. The primary reason for setting up a cause are not often directly that of money-making ; but rather, the promotion of certain ideals. However, promoting those ideals are what often necessitate raising funds through: donations, contributions, annual due; sponsorship and sales of nomination forms. Political parties, manifestos, political aspirants and aspirations are as marketable to the degree of their unique selling proposition, brand positioning and re-positioning.  Even as buying is at the discretion of the voting populace.  Hence, chose wisely .

Rather than tracing the historical origins of rap music , this reflection focuses on its beauty, lyrical dexterity, and evolution.   My earliest exposure to rap dates back to the disco era — images of hip-hop enthusiasts carrying stereo cassette players on their shoulders, performing electric and break dances at street corners. From the outset, it became clear that rap cannot be separated from hip-hop culture . Since it emerged from the African-American communities in the United States, the genre has since evolved into a global cultural force.   Living in Lagos , what fascinates me most about rap is its masterful wordplay , rhythmic flow, punchlines , and expressive intensity. Over the years, I have observed that within competitive rap culture, those celebrated as the “best” are often not the romantic or flamboyant performers, but the lyricists who combine speed, authenticity, punchline precision, freestyle dexterity, and unmistakable hip-hop attitude.
