Adam & Eve, and the first fruit.

Reflections on Eve and the Interval of Knowledge I often wonder whether the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis is to be understood purely as history, or also as analogy. If the episode were staged as a drama, how long would the director allow for the interval between the serpent convincing Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and Adam’s eventual participation? What might that interval represent? What depth of awareness or transformation might have occurred within Eve before Adam joined her? Was it the same fruit she plucked, ate from, and then gave to her husband? Or did she select another from the same tree? These questions are not merely speculative; they probe the nature of knowledge , influence, responsibility, and sequence. The silence between actions sometimes speaks louder than the actions themselves.
